The Power of Peptides
Skincare advice with Jane Bryant, from the Hough Green Clinic
A peptide is a short chain of Amino Acids that act as cell communicators, triggering a precise response in certain skin cells. That instruction is specific to the order that the Amino Acids have been formulated.
The instruction for the peptide is how the skin works at a younger age. Therefore the skin is reminded how to function more effectively and becomes re-energised. Every peptide has its own individual super powers making it perfect for a variety of skin conditions. Peptides can also improve skin structure, smooth the skin’s texture and produce brighter skin tones.
Amino Acids are the building blocks of certain proteins needed by the skin. These proteins include the production of collagen and elastin.
Retinol is stronger than a peptide, but they work well together improving cell turnover which in turn stimulates new collagen growth. It is recommended that you apply Retinol and the your appropriate peptide in the evening. Vitamin C and peptides work well together keeping the skin barrier strong and healthy. We recommend Vitamin C application in the morning.
Certain peptides are good for reducing redness and acne scarring associated with acne.
Peptides are one of the most promising anti-ageing treatments because of their ability to penetrate the top layer of your skin.
