Acne

Our bodies produce a hormone called androgen which stimulates our sebaceous glands to produce an oily substance called sebum. An overproduction of sebum causes blocked pores, trapping the oil. Bacteria produced in our skin (P. Acnes) feed on and break down sebum. The P. Acnes bacteria become trapped and then the mixture of sebum, hair protein and fatty acids produced by the bacteria irritate the walls of the hair follicle causing inflammation and swelling.

Acne Scarring or Scarring

The Rejuvapen is the most advanced type of medical skin needling. The concept is based on the skin’s ability to heal itself whenever it encounters physical damage. The Rejuvapen utilises 9 precisely spaced extremely fine, very small micro needles into the epidermis and the top layer of the dermis. As a result the skin shifts its natural repair mechanism into high gear and starts producing collagen and elastin to repair these micro perforations. We recommend a minimum of 5 treatments for scarring, one treatment every 6 weeks.
