Treatments for the delicate eye area

It is never too early to start looking after the delicate eye area. Daily treatment with a cream or serum specifically for the eye area is essential to prevent signs of ageing. The way the treatment is applied and the amount is key to the long term condition, appearance and health of the skin around your eyes.

Firstly, a very, very small amount of the eye cream or serum should be placed on the ring finger. Then very gently start along under the brow, following the natural line of the eye socket, with a gentle rolling movement, and applying a very light pressure, move along to the outer edge of the eye and then under the eye until you have made contact all along the outline of the eye socket. Repeat to the other eye.

The skin around the eyes is very delicate and fragile. Dragging or rubbing the skin can easily cause the delicate skin to stretch and sag.

Never be heavy handed with the amount of eye cream applied as the excess cream over time will build up under the eye area causing unsightly white bags of excess cream that can only be removed surgically. Sunscreen and sunglasses to shield the eye area from the sun’s rays are a must.
